“We are really customer driven in everything we do, always wondering how we can help our customers but also the other teams.”

Can you tell me more about your Background?

I have an engineering background. When I was young, I was fond of the mathematical approach and naturally ended up doing an engineering degree in IT. However, during my internship and school project, I felt that something was missing. I wanted to better understand the business behind the solution I was trying to implement. This is where I decided to go for additional cursus in marketing & international consulting in a business school.

I then had the opportunity to join a famous consulting company, Accenture, and to work on a less famous product: The digital supply chain for Universal Music. This was my first experience with a product approach. Discussing with professionals from Universal Music to better understand their need and build a platform that would allow them to perform their day to day job: Making sure new releases were available on all streaming platforms.

After 3 intense years spent on working with only one client, I needed a change of environment. I was looking for a challenge where I would be able to put my newly acquired skills at the service of multiple users having broader pains and use cases. I decided to join a B2C company called Dailymotion where I spent 3 years working as a product manager within the data squad, i.e where we built recommendations and search engines for the platform.

Later on, after a little trip to the US, I joined Tinyclues, a marketing intelligence company that wants to put the customer back at the center of the marketing strategy by helping brands to communicate intelligently with their customer base. During 4 years, I’ve had the opportunity to work on all parts of this product: from the data pipeline to the SaaS platform our customers used to implement their digital marketing strategy.

That’s where I was offered the opportunity to join mytraffic.

Why did you decide to join Mytraffic?

When I first heard about Mytraffic through Justine, our HR manager, I was immediately intrigued by the product and sensible to the company’s mission. I do enjoy lively cities where you can buy things at the store around the corner. Not saying I do not buy online but I am a strong believer that the brick and mortar model is not dead and will not die. It is evolving to be a peer for digital consumption. Shops becoming showrooms and so on. As you understand, one part for me to join Mytraffic was the product itself.

The second reason was the people, all the ones I met during my interview process were super smart and passionate about their jobs and the company.

Lastly it was the opportunity Hakim gave me to become a CPO and to help the company to turn into a product-driven one, building a team and maximizing the adoption by our users.

Can you describe us, with simple words, your role as Chief Product Officer at Mytraffic?

My role is to be an enabler for the product team. Helping them grow in their roles, providing guidance and support when needed. And also to be a leader for the company, providing inspiration and vision for our product.

What makes you happy in your CPO role at Mytraffic?

The people, the product, the customers. I’m happy when I hear great feedback about our product, when it becomes a must have for our targeted companies. I’m also happy when there are challenges and opportunities, as it is always a way to learn new things and to do more.

What are the main challenges for the Mytraffic Product Team today?

I would say that we are facing 2 challenges: One is the scale-up of the team in order to deliver on our vision and our ambitious roadmap. Our target is to grow from 6 to 15 people by the end of the year in our various product departments: product management, product design and product marketing

Our second challenge is to roll out the new version of our product and onboard teams and clients to embrace this change.

What’s the current team structure in this scale-up environment?

Currently the team is organized around our customer persona. Each product manager, product designer, and product marketing manager work mainly on a given persona ensuring our product will provide the best in class experience for them.

Why is it special to work in the Mytraffic Product team?

I would say that our product team is made of individuals that really complement each other. We can count on each other and learn from each other. We have a no-bullshit culture and always provide feedback with empathy. We are really customer driven in everything we do, always wondering how we can help our customers but also the other teams.

Can you share the biggest success of your team since you joined the company?

I joined the team in June 2021 right in the middle of the transition of the company culture toward a customer-centric approach and a product-driven methodology and I’ve been one of the enablers of this change. Of course, as all changes, it takes time to be fully achieved but the first key successes is the strong user centricity culture within the team, shifting from a delivery first approach to a discovery driven roadmap and strategy.

What qualities does a Product Manager need to have at Mytraffic to be successful?

Strong customer empathy, great storytelling capabilities, good understanding of the data product, adaptability to a fast paced environment, willingness to be hands-on.

If you could speak to future Mytraffic candidates, what would you say?

By joining mytraffic, you would take part in a passionnant journey to provide our clients with powerful insights. Helping them make informed decisions and generate more return on investment, thus shaping the future of the physical world.

And if you like the challenges offered by a scale-up phase, love to be surrounded by talented individuals and aspire to work in a really customer-driven approach, please do reach out, we would love to learn more about you.
